America is too complacent! You are absolutely right. However, I hope that the Y2K won't cause disaster and computer breakdown and failure. But should such an event occur, it's best to be prepared in case of a crisis. The "Y2K Resource Guide" is very handy. If you want to know how to obtain one, contact me directly...

Depends on which American's you are talking about. Those who Get It, whether recently or longer re y2k, certainly aren't complacent. Those who aren't directly involved in y2k, who don't use the internet, those who haven't yet heard of y2k are probably only as complacent about y2k as they are about the rest of their lives. Those who live by the clues and dictates of the media will remain as complacent as their masters tell them, until natural tendancy to panic happens.

Speaking for myself as American. I'm fairly complacent re y2k. But then I've worked my ass off getting ready for a 10 scale hit, as best I can given my resources - personal and social, so there is no reason not to be complacent. Anything more would be beating myself up, addicted to agnst, because I've done my survival prep (cheaply too).

Y2k isn't the largest thing on my horizon. Much more important are the survival and comfort levels of the remainder of my life. Those prove to be somewhat more extensive and slightly more costly than I originally estimated, but are still within my near poverty reach.

From my experience in trying to relate to people about y2k, there are too many ostriched out there w/ sunburned tail feathers. Many just want to ignore the potential for serious problems, do not want to talk about it, believe it will be fixed in time, do not belive it will effect them, directly or indirectly......... do, many will be looking for "Gov't Corn" or b eating down their neighbors doors looking for food and more......... I am willing to feed people, but not take a bunch under my roof.....I have enough here now... But, we must all pray, seeking the Master of all what He wants from us in preparing for y2k, not only for ourselves, but for others as well. I have a bread recipe, using grains and beans, that is self-sustaining w/ just water......nurishing and good tasting. We will get enough of the grains/beans to feed 10 people for a year. We are make do people, who can do w/ little if need be, in order to help others, How about you? Have you gotten past the "us 4, and no more" mentality, to preparing to help others? Becky

In retrospect, these panicked Y2K worrywarts would in times past have been wandering the streets with signs proclaiming "the end is near".
