Post office year 2000 clock

I went to my local post ofice this morning to pick up a few one cent stamps. Lo and Behold; there on the wall, was a large red digital clock counting down the seconds to the year 2000. My town has a population of just over 10,000, with a new post office. Didn't have a chance to talk to any postal employees about it. They were busy selling new stamps. Has anyone else seen a clock in their local postal establishment?

Hull they are just abou tin every post office. The full display consists of the clock and a big sign about the stamps of this century. It is not just the clock, and the sign says nothing about Y2K.

I was in the post office the other day and saw that. The lady in front of me commented on it. I told her that's how fast your life is passing you buy, that's how fast your getting older, and that's how fast we're getting to the grave! I guess I was in one of those Y2K depressed moods. But it was a scary thought standing there watching that clock flash numbers quicker than you can blink.
