Why you switch from 6x7 to 6x4.5 and vice versa

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Pentax 67 SLR : One Thread

As 67 II is available here in Czech already, I am before final decision whether buy 645N or 67II. I would like to hear you experience - preferable form people who migrate from one system to another and why. I am going to use that system from tripod most of the time, so 67II would be the answer, but 645N looks so nice and have other possibilities to use advantages of that camera would be nice. I do not make bigger enlargements than 50x60 cm.

So can you give me some advise ?

Thank you all.

Pavel, Popular Photography magazine did a test a few years ago. They compared 35MM to 645. They found that with fast film, MF had a slight edge. With 100 asa film it was dead even. With slow films, the MF had a great advantage in picture qualtity. This tells me that 645 is not much better than a good 35mm system. If you are going to spend the money for a MF system, don't go half way. Buy the 6x7 format. This format is superior to 645. Publishers have told me the same thing. The larger the negative, the better the print. I am very happy with my Pentax 67. My pictures are always supurb. The Pentax system is reasonably priced and worth serious consideration. The lenses are excellent. I hope this helps you out.
