I am interested in knowing where the "non-tourist" sites are. The ones off the beaten path. The places where one could better get a sense of the beauty and tranquility of the islands. :)

There are hundreds of little hidden places throughout the state and it just depends on if you want to go to the mountains or to the ocean. Most of the places are places we grew up never knowing the real name or any name. There are hiking trails, tide pools and beaches that you can go to and never see a soul, see a few people, or fight the maddening crowds. Depending on the time of day and/or year, places that are standing room only can actually be deserted. We'll have to get you some special maps to these secret places when you get here 8))))
