Is Kona coffee the best & When best to buy pinapples?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : About Hawaii : One Thread

I heard that Hawaii produces the best coffee in the world, is that true? Also, When is the best time of the year to buy a pineapple?

Response to Coffee & pineapples

You're right and you have to watch out.You need to read the label good and watch out for the small print on the label that it says "Not less than 10% Pure Kona Coffee." If you see that then you know you just bought "coffee" or more specifically, a blend, not 100% Pure Kona Coffee. You just got one Kona Coffee bean and nine Columbian Beans. To be on the safe side you need to look for 100% pure Kona Coffee. Take a look at the 1998 Kona Coffee Cupping Competition for some real good Kona coffee (http://www.kona-cupping.com/).

Summer was when we all got out of school to either work in the cannery or go pick pineapple in the hot sun with long sleeve shirts, gloves, jeans, and boots---tough to do when you used to shorts and t-shirt. Here's some pineapple info (http://www.crfg.org/pubs/ff/ pineapple.html).
