Hot links are great, but....

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

pretty please, could you either use the actual url in the hotlink or post the url so that it can be easily accessed in a different window for those who prefer to view new websites this way. Thanks so much.

So how do you hotlink, anyway?

Lara, there's excellent tutorials in the thread below, plus a template to get you started until you're comfortable working from 'scratch':

HTML 101

Several kind, helpful, HTML-experienced posters have written other templates and examples also. Maybe they can hotlink you to their threads?

Lara: Just go to the thread called "Tips on posting HTML" in the first archive. You can also use this thread to practice on. Also, If you haven't read the "New to the Forum - README" thread, you may want to do that for some other tips.

Bumble Bee,

Your point is well taken. I'll try to remember. :-)

Bumblebee, right click on the hotlink and then click on properties. That will give you the url.

To repeat a recent Jon Miles post -- thanks Jon, you're terrific with HTML -- from the Sacre Bleu thread:

" ... if you have a two-button mouse, you can get out of a window frame by clicking any link with the right-side button and selecting "open in a new window", this give the webpage in its own window. After moving to the main page, bookmark it.

You can do this with a thread to keep the main list showing in its own window, and you can right click the 'contribute answer' link to keep the discussion showing in its own window."
