Red eye with Coolpix 900

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

I'm having a terrible time with red-eye with my Nikon Coolpix 900. Although using red-eye reduction helps, I almost consistently get red-eye on my inside flash photos. It is very time consuming, and not always entirely effective, to have to process each picture for red-eye removal. Any suggestions?

The ultimate solution is off-camera flash, but that's probably not what you wanted to hear. (SR Electronics makes some digital-camera- specific slave strobe units, at www.srinc.com). Other than that though, I'm afraid I don't have a good solution for you. (How about it - any Nikon users out there with a good fix?)

The DigiSlave DSF-1S from ISR has worked wonders for me. I can hold it up high without worrying about those damn short cables too.
