Violence and race war in South Africa - prelude to y2k?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Just watched a show on Fox about violence and race war in South Africa. Is this a prelude to y2k? It said society is disintegrating since Mandella took over. It showed farmers patrolling their north 40's with fully automatic weapons a la Paul Milne.

Any S'africaners out there?

Saw the same show. There was also a documentary on recently on PBS about the police force in Soweto - the most dangerous beat in the world.

I've visited SA four times - back in the Apartheid days - and saw the regime in action. Back then (10 + years ago) you could walk around Joberg at night - no way now.

My uncle retired from the Joberg Star seven years ago and moved to Texas - said Joberg was getting too dangerous. My best friend married a South Safrican, just heard that he's moved back to England, Durban was getting too hot. Another buddy left five years ago to go to Cyprus.

The country is in a shambles, the Rand too. I won't go into the tricks that all these people had to pull to get their wealth out of the place :) (you are not allowed to bring or transfer money out...)

How do you spell Krooogerrands???

Coincidentally, just before I read this post, Art Bell was talking about his visit to South Africa, prompted by news reports of farm owner massacres. Said RSA is a mess, Joberg people machine gunning each other, even worse than Los Angeles -- truly scary.

Obviously a lot of people with (perceived) scores to settle. Just like it will be here in a year. I myself am making a list and checking it twice to see who's been naughty or nice.

And all you liberal pussies thougth apartheit was bad.

You can't give savages power. South Africa is a "shining example".

If you are interested in receiving news from South Africa send a subscribe message to boervolk@global.co.za or visit their web site at http://members.tripod.com/FreedomSA/

I like to keep informed but cannot believe the traditional so-called news media any longer.
