Any feedback on D620L?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

I haven't seen any reviews on the new D620L yet. Did they fix any of the shortcomings of the 600L, like the low light focus problems? Is this camera worth the extra couple hundred bucks over the DC260?

We have a D-620L in for review right now, hope to have the review posted in another week to 10 days.

The focus system appears to be the same: The big enhancements are the external flash trigger, white balance settings in degrees kelvin, and the huge RAM buffer for continuous shooting. This last is the *really* big news, and probably worth the extra few hundred dollars all on its own. You can really shoot pictures (at least five of them) about as fast as you can press the shutter button (allowing of course for autofocus time, but then you can lock the focus, and shoot even faster). You'd think this would be a minor point, but it TOTALLY changes how the camera feels, and how you relate to it. Not having to take into account whether or not the camera is ready to take a shot or not puts your mind back on the photography, rather than the tool. VERY nice!
