NERC to DOE Report to be issued 1/11/1999

The North American Electric Reliability Council will hold a news conference regarding its latest electric industry Y2k preparedness report on 1/11/1999 at 1:30PM, National Press Club, Washington, DC. A "star studded" list of industry attendees will be on hand. Does that give you an idea of what the report is going to contain? I'm sure that the backdoor schmoozing for this report has been ongoing for some time now. This is a calculated media event, and nothing more. It will be another "feel good" report with happy face stickers slapped all over it. Please, God, let all the reporters be at the Clinton trial. Here's the press release:

I have just completed a study of NERC source documents for the upcoming report. Anyone interested in reading the report (8 pages, Word97 format) please contact me via email only. I will also be offering commentary on the NERC report following the press conference on Monday, January 11 (though maybe not until Tuesday or Wednesday, depending on my schedule).
