"The conveniences and comforts of humanity in general will be linked up by one mechanism, which will produce comforts and conveniences beyond human imagination. One of Ben Levi's organizing efforts is in Boulder, Colorado.

At last, thanks Robert, this is the prophet I was looking for a while back, see my Nostradamus post.

I'll try and dig up some more information on his prophecies.

In response to a reader's request, here's some info on quote. I'm going to try this without HTML tags and see if it works!

Dear Ben Levi,

We on Ed Yourdon's Y2K Forum (the very best gathering spot for breaking Y2K info and fascinating discussions, we humbly believe!) have been told about a Ben Levi this way:

"The conveniences and comforts of humanity in general will be linked up by one mechanism, which will produce comforts and conveniences beyond human imagination. But the smallest mistake will bring the whole mechanism to a certain collapse. In this way the end of the world will be brought about." Pir-o-Murshid Inayat Khan, 1922 (Sufi Prophet) Saw this somewhere on the net - credit to some guy named Ben Levi

Are you this Ben Levi, and do you know of this Sufi Prophet? One heck of a quote, wow! Can you point us to the book and page where this is? Is it for real? Do you collect Y2K prophecies?

Please let me know; I'm very curious! Looked your name up via a 'Net search engine. If you aren't this person, please forgive us ;-) We all do a lot of reading and can have trouble remembering just where we saw what.

Thanks, Ashton & Leska in Cascadia allaha@earthlink.net

Yes, you found me! Here's the citation:

"The conveniences and comforts of humanity in general will be linked up by one mechanism, which will produce comforts and conveniences beyond human imagination. But the smallest mistake will bring the whole mechanism to a certain collapse. In this way the end of the world will be brought about." Pir-o-Murshid Inayat Khan (Complete Works, 1922 I, p. 158-9)

He is the founder of the Sufi order, and I have confirmation from his son, Pir Vilayat Khan, whom I interviewed for a video project which I have just completed the first (of hopefully many) video. I'll keep you on my Y2K list.

<< Ben, thank you so much for writing back! Awesome! And you got the scoop from the son on videotape! Question: does that son have home movies/recordings of his father? That would be good to include on your documentary :) >>

That's a good idea...unfortunately, I've got too many good ideas, and not enough time to do any of them.

<< We are disciples of Sri Paramahansa Yoganandaji. We also collect music therapy recordings for our hospice patients, and one of the best is Mystic Dance by Felix Maria Woschek. Sorta Sufi-flavored. Gorgeous! >>

I'll check it out...I'm looking for good music to put behind the videos I'm making...I'm finding it hard to find the right music, so I'm not using any for this first one.

<< Would you give your permission for me to post your response on the Forum thread about the quote? Validation always helps ;-) Thanks for putting us on your Y2K list! Gratefully, Ashton & Leska in Cascadia >>

Sure, go for it. Who knows what it might lead to. :)
