I have the QV-10a and until the other day worked great. But now it won't turn on. I put new batterys and tried the AC Adaptor but still nothing. Has this happened to anyone else or do you know how to fix it? Please write me at csuthers@yahoo.com

It's possible it got itself into some funny internal state - you could try removing the batteries & AC adapter entirely, let the camera sit for a while, and then power it back up. It's also possible the camera got fatally hung from low power: This was a somewhat bizarre problem with the early Casios, and a reason Casio didn't recommend rechargeable batteries for them: If a camera was trying to write to its memory when the power dropped below a certain level, it could fatally and permanently "hang," requiring a visit to the Casio repair depot. I never saw this happen, nor personally knew anyone to whom it occurred, so it may be an apocryphal story, but I do recall hearing of it from a Casio person long ago. Try the pull-the-batteries trick though, and see if it does you any good...

Oh, one last thought: Check the LCD brightness adjustment - the camera *could* be turning on, but the LCD just not lighting up.

Try to enter the TEST-MODE:

The procedure for entering this test mode is as follows:

1. The QV-10 must be in REC mode. 2. Turn on the power whilst holding down the [MODE] button and the shutter button as well. 3. -> The screen should display "TEST MODE". 4. Push the [@/PROTECT] and [DEL] button to bring up a menu. 5. Use the [-] and [+] buttons to move the pointer and the shutter button to make your selection.
