Guard ro be readied to squash 2000 bug

As part of an overall state government initiative orrdered last month by Gov. Gary Locke to ensure essential services aren't disrupted by computer breaksowns when the calender hits 2000, about 3000 army Guardsmen will be on duty across the state Dec. 31 and Jan. 1 said Maj. Gen. Gregory Barlow, the Washington state adjutant general.

Would put up a URL but the PI does not archive news articles in on going dispute with the Seattle Times who owns the PI.

The "Guardsmen" will, no doubt, be replacing affected embedded systems & cranking out remediated source code.
