I sort of wish Kauai wasn't so far away. But if it were on the mainland it woujldn't be Kauai any more.

Tom, We in the U.S. often consider the country to be an island unto itself. The people in Kauai have no such illusions about how deeply they depend on imports to maintain their way of life.

If we could only be so lucky here in North America...
