amazing, the attitudes some people have

OK, let's talk about the attitudes Christians have about Y2K.

Most of the Christians I've talked to say it'll be an event that will be pretty much within the realm of what we can handle. "For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellors there is safety." Proverbs 24:6

Agreed!

However,

"Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves." Matthew 7-15

Equally agreed, with one question. Did you ever get a definition of "what we can handle"?!?!?!

I'm convinced this is true, but I have a different def'n of what I can handle, and that def'n is in a state of flux but getting more severe all the time (mill due today, grain in 2 weeks, lots of visits to Sams and BJ's, and Lehman's).

It is interesting that the Programmers are the ones who gave the tools to the tyrants and now the Programmers are the Prophets of destruction. How ironic. (Jer 50:24 KJV) "I have laid a snare for thee, and thou art also taken, O Babylon, and thou wast not aware: thou art found, and also caught, because thou hast striven against the LORD." (Rev 18:11 KJV) "And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more:"

And then there was PEACE, the tyrant is dead!

Peace? You've got to be kidding. If it goes Infomagic or even Milne, peaceful is the last thing it'll be. Think Mad Max except the bikers and other assorted bad guys won't be too interested in rape and killing for sport. They'll be killing for Starkist Tuna and Ritz crackers. At least until the gas runs out. And that's the good part. The really bad stuff starts when all those hi-tech nuclear plants and biological warfare facilities are no longer staffed by technicians who can maintain them because they are either dead or headed for the hills. Oopsie. Poisonfire. Btw, I don't believe it will be anywhere near this bad but it is a logical conclusion if "Babylon" (I'm assuming you mean us) is really wrecked by Y2K. I don't think you're gonna get to see much "Peace on Earth, goodwill towards men" stuff out of all this.

Peace will come after the dust has settled! "Babylon" is the code name for the economic system which rules over us. It started with the Chaldean, Nebuchadnezar, (Iraq). And the end of this system will be a catastrophe...(James 5:3 KJV) "Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days." (read, last days as end of the age or TEOTWAWKI.) (James 5:4 KJV) "Behold, the hire of the labourers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth: and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of sabaoth." (James 5:5 KJV) "Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; ye have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter." (James 5:6 KJV) "Ye have condemned and killed the just; and he doth not resist you." I know nothing about computer programs but the Bible I have been studying for a long time. If it was Jimmy Swaggart or some other religion for money kinda guy making this prediction and warning I would discount it! They don't want me around. I've been dismissed from three "organized church" things and I will not go back. This does not, however, invalidate the Bible. There will be PEACE after the system is removed. Promised. Trouble first, peace after.
