When DGI's finally GI, how will they react?

I remember hearing about y2k long before I knew what it was. I simply thought it was a scam deal for Bill Gates, and other makers of software, to sell some fixit software for $90.00 to every PC owner in the US.

When I found out the magnitude of the problem, I was furious that our nitwit government hadn't been working on this years ago in order to prevent calamity, and that our scandal crazed media hadn't had the brains to do true investigative journalism and expose this negligence , and that the greedy, polluting, arrogant, coporations hadn't had the foresight to spend money on remediation sooner. What the hell were the CEO's of these companies thinking?

What will be the reaction of the DGI's when they discover that Bad News is here to stay, and it's practically here? What kind of backlash will government, mainstream media and corporations get? Will the DGI's want an accounting?

It will be too late to blame anyone. Corporations will point the finger at their vendors, vendors will point their fingers at suppliers, suppliers will point their finger at the government, it will all be muddled and no one will admit to anything. It will become a circle of fools and clowns. You know, it isn't like the information isn't out there, it's everywhere! What exactly will the DGI's ask anyway? Why didn't you tell us? How come we are just finding this out now? What do we do now? Who will take care of me? Blah, Blah, Blah! In the meantime, martial law will be enforced, the store shelves will be bare, and millions will be left crying in the streets.

The sad truth is that the people and companies that haven't prepared will quite possibly cease to exist. From what I gather, generators are already too in demand to purchace by 2000. That's now. Those who wait longer will face more serious limitations. If the s*** hits the fan, no one is going to be worried about accounting. People will be attempting not to freeze to death (sorry, Minnesota bias). Unless I'm very wrong, there won't be a federal government to prosecute anyone. If there are any DGI's left after this mess (if it infact happens) they will be far more concerned with feeding their family than seeking litigation. Kilgore
