This, from my GI-sister, regarding use of chlorine in water stored in 2 litre bottles.

Q.: Is it ok to store water in 2 litre bottles without chlorine--adding chlorine to the water when used for drinking only?

Concerns:

1.) Chemical reaction/effect of chlorine on plastic.

2.) Why waste chlorine for grey water?

TIA!

Bleach won't harm the plastic. I also suggest using rubbermaid trash cans for water not intended for consumption. They also may be ok for storing water for consumption. I'm just not positive. Available at WalMart for about 6 bucks and change (26 gallon). 100 gallons for grey water storage for about $25. Not too bad.
