The trade magazine of the Sugar industry was the LOUISIANA PLANTER AND SUGAR MANUFACTURER, a weekly from 1891 to late 1929. Among industry adds and lots of useless trivia (sale and weather reports ) you occasionally find a tidbit. I have scanned an almost complete set at Univ of Texas (Austin) and many copies can be found in Louisiana libraries. In addition Gilmore Sugar Manuals were issued almost annually for most of the world ( I have about 18 different ones for Cuba, and one or 2 for Hawaii, La, Puerto Rico and Dominico etc.)

A special issue of the NGRS magazine, with a history of the locos built by John Fowler (UK) in the early years of the Hawaiian sugar industry. Contains scale drawings of some of these locos.

LOUISIANA
