Interesting. I wish the entire Meerkat was in view though. I'm not used to seeing pictures of them in this sort of position. They are usually depicted in some sort of hyperalert posture watching for danger. This one seems to be daydreaming. Like I said, interesting.

I think the cropping is fine. I don't think the left side being cutoff is important. You see all the feet, there is space "leading" the animal on the right, and the background is not distracting. If it was zoomed out to gain the left side the head would have to be smaller. Good shot.
