Nikon 900 PCMCIA input to Macintoshgreenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread |
I would like to know if the memory cards from a Nikon 900s camera can be directly read in the card slot of a new Macintosh G3 powerbook. If so what adapter and software do I need?

Any generic CompactFlash to PCMCIA adapter should work just fine. (They're cheap, shouldn't cost you more than ~$15 or so.) On the Mac, just make sure that PC Exchange is enabled, as the CF cards are formatted to DOS standards. Other than that, just click and drag! (The CF card will mount on your desktop as just another disk drive, so you can copy the files at will, open them later in whatever imaging program you prefer.)
