Looks like a studio shot, except in the studio you'd be tempted to use at least three light sources, as if it was a glamor portrait. The graded brown/gray background is especially nice as a contrast for the bird.

The fence post fairly reeks of "hand of man", though it is appropriate for this species.

I'd like to crop the top to just a bit above the bird's head, the extra headroom doesn't do much for the image. The proportions of the format you've posted is quite a bit longer than 35mm, did you crop the side(s)? Or is this APX "panorama" format?
