URLs for Community Preparedness?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Millennium Salons : One Thread

Hello;

My name is Cynthia Beal and I'm a grocer and a farmer in Eugene, Oregon.

I'd really like to know of any URLs anyone can contribute here that can add to community preparedness. These would be sites that deal with talking to your community members about the challenge, especially when you and they are novices, and half the experts are saying that you're crazy for thinking something needs to be done, and the other half are saying you're crazy for thinking anything CAN be done.

I can suggest a few, and will add more to this listing as time permits.

The Cassandra Project

Westergaard site

Douglass Carmichael's site

Thanks for sharing here. You're thoughts and work is greatly appreciated.

Best,

Cynthia

This one was gotten off the Cassandra Project site a couple months ago. It's the FEMA Indpendent Study Program site. Might be a valuable resource in a community.

More!

This is a general awareness URL, but it is excellent. Put together by the many experienced remediators on the DejaNews group comp.software.year-2000, and maintained by Pam Hystad, this Unofficial Year 2000 Faq is hyperlinked at the bottom with some of the best sites going, and it is constantly maintained. I highly recommend a bookmark to this site, as one of the keys to helping others prepare is giving them accurate information to base their actions on.

Best,

Cynthia

Attention please...

Please put any community preparation links in the new Shared Resources section of the Millennium Salsons. The link below with take you there, if you'd like to do that now. Click the link, and then click the link that says, "Tools and Resources." You'll see a Community Preparation link there. Click it, and then the link that says "Add URL" at the bottom of the page/list.
