Will the available power really work ?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Electric Utilities and Y2K : One Thread

I have been reading about the power grid for awhile but have not seen anyone address whether the power will be the right hertz or frequency and voltage. I cannot help but think that just because the power stays on, which I doubt very much it will, but wiil that power acually be a benefit or a curse. I don't know a lot about this but have seen what happens when the voltage, hertz, etc are not correct. Whatever is operating stops real quick and is usually destroyed. Almost all appliances and furnaces are high tech and I do not believe they could handle changes like that. Anyone have any answers? Also, how complicated is it to maintain voltage, hertz, etc? Thank you and God Bless.

You can obtain a great deal of education on these and other power production issues through articles at the Westergaard Year 2000 site,"POWERFUL Prognosis" section: http://www.y2ktimebomb.com/PP/RC/
