He's popular, I got a "page exceeded traffic limit" warning.

And don't you just love the Japanese flavor of the translation of a 404 error: "Access Forbidden". All you gaijin trying to read about our so-called troubles, kinmotsu-des (it's forbidden)...

http://www2.gol.com/users/PNG404 - That file does not exist.
It seems that the file you are looking for does not exist. Perhaps it has been removed.
-- Diane J. Squire (sacredspaces@yahoo.com), December 22, 1998.
Diane - A 404 is essentially a "can't access" error, but the file being removed is just one (albeit a very common) reason. File access rights/permissions is another possibility, along with (as PNG's site explains) traffic being too heavy. That's why I enjoyed seeing the Japanese version of a 404. Makes it sound like we're "forbidden" to look at the file. Visions of Toshiru Mifune putting his hand on the hilt of his sword and glowering...

Mac & Arnie,Question is, does PNG know about it? Yes, I enjoyed the web-site Samurai too.

Gary North posted links to a couple of PNG's essay's, so PNG's page is probably overloaded now...

Hmmmm, very interesting. The link worked fine immediately after I posted it. It very well may be traffic-related since it was posted on Gary North's site this morning. Here's the ISP info:Global OnLine Japan (GOL-DOM) Imperial Building 5-3-2 Nishi-Shinjuku Shinjuku Tokyo 160-0023, JPThe server is located in Japan, PNG may be creating trouble for his ISP. Or it may just be a normal 'can't get there from here situation that we see every day. Here's the traceroute to the server:Domain Name: GOL.COM

Arnie I was able to access it this morning when you first posted it. Thanks!

Tried again at 1530 Pacific Time - no problem this time. All the East Coast Northites must have been clogging up the works this morning. 8-}]Thoroughly enjoyed PNG's takes on "Trouble" and "Dolphins vs. Tuna". The apparent link to a "Y2K" article wasn't active yet.

Gomen nasai (I'm sorry) My provider shut me down less than 4 hours after uploading. Must have exceeded 1,000 hits/hour limit. Either that or too much "trouble." Today is a Japanese holiday so my provider will be closed. Anyone know a free server with no limit?Onegai shimasu (figurative speech: please do me a favor) PNG
