Titanic Missing Scenes {in 'Breaking New Ground' documentary}

A wonderful broadcast was shown on the French CBC network on James Cameron's movie Titanic. Translated, the title was Titanic: When history joins fiction. This hour long documentary included interviews with key movie actors, showed specific historical context and best of all, clips from the missing scenes, the captain using his horn to call lifeboats back, further sequences of Molly wanting to return to save passengers, the "shut Up" sequence between the Californian and Titanic's wireless room. Many sequences seem to have been obtained from some English documentary. I have never seen it, is any one familiar with such a documentary?

Response to Titanic Missing Scenes

I saw the American documentary to which I think you refer. It was made by Fox a year ago, but I don't remember the name. I'll look through my collection and report back later.

I found my tape, but don't have the right name of the show written on it. Can't access the VCR right now. Does anyone else know the name? It was the Fox show that came out in January (a year ago) with clips from the movie, unused scenes, and bits with survivors, historians, and Cameron.

I think it was something like 'Titanic Uncovered' or 'Behind the Scenes: The making of Titanic'. Hope I could help! :-) Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year everyone!

I saw the documentary in the USA, it is called "Titanic, Breaking new ground". It was broadcast on Fox Tv as a special in April 1998. I have been trying to purchase a copy, but cannot find it for sale anywhere. Perhaps Fox Tv will run it again.

Hope this helps you.
