Nice detail shot. I like the forms created by the contrasting colors and the feeling of depth provided by the peeling bark. I might try cropping a bit off the bottom, just slightly below the crack in the bark. And, IMO, if you crop off the white bark on the right it really focuses you in on the 3 shades of bark and the shapes they create and the diagonals that give the image a dynamic feel. BTW, try to post an image that's no more than 400 pixels high, otherwise most people will have to scroll to see it.

Dell -

It's hard to go wrong with a combination of Burnt Umber, Yellow Ochre, and white and you didn't I think. Very nice from a color, tonal point of view and makes a nice abstract from the real. I have looked at it for several days before commenting and think it would be a good basis for a painting.

Dell - this is a great graphical image. I really enjoyed this one. You did a nice job with the composition and depth of field. Nice soft lighting. I would certainly blow this one up if it were my own.
