Everyone,

Here's a little heads up just to let you know that the working group leadership is still alive and kicking. Hang in there, all of you -- some good things are in the offing, beginning with the announcement to follow.

DocuLabs Inc. is a Chicago-based RM consulting firm that has done benchmarking analyis of EDMS software applications including the 5015.2 compliant RM application. Some of you may have seen their reports on the RM listserv after the ARMA conference in Houston and the MER conference in Chicago. A couple of their Special Reports on EDMS application are on the DoNCIO page.

Rich Medina of DocuLabs is preparing a combination needs analysis/RM software evaluation for the DoNCIO working group to be presented sometime the latter half of January. As a preliminary to this presentation, he has asked all of us in the working group to respond to a questionnaire to be posted shortly on this website. The questions require us to analyze our RM funtions and expertise, our connections with IT, and some additional management, operational, and training concerns. I'd like for all of us to respond to it as best we can for our own organizations and activities. Medina and DocuLabs will use the information we provide to tailor their presentation to our needs. So I hope all of us will take the time to think about these 10 questions and answer them as completely as possible, no later than COB 31 December. And if any of you have questions about DocuLabs, the presentation in January, or the questionnaire, call me.
