IMAGEK digital film cartridge

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

The fabled "digital film" that fits in you 35mm seems about to become real. See http://www.imagek.com/index.shtml 30 frames of 1280X1024 and no loss compression format is claimed. Remains to be seen if CMOS approach equals CCD. They are now offering Beta testing opportunities. Hope Imaging-Resource can get on that list!

We actually know some of the Imagek people, and will almost certainly be on their list whenever they have publicly-available units. They appear to be in a mode of seeking venture funding to commercialize their technology. (Hence the recent building-up of their board of directors.) So far though, I don't think they're in a position to crank out even beta units. Stay tuned though - if it breaks anywhere, it'll be here!
