Lessig's Statute of Frauds Summary - poll

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Lessig's Contracts : One Thread

Some of you may recall that in early October we talked about the Statute of Frauds, and Lessig said he would provide "a very clear and simple summary" if we posted more on the web page. Well, we must have failed the test, cos no summary appeared. I asked him if we could still get the summary, and suggested that there was demand within the class for it. He replied:

"let's see the demand."

So if anyone who is interested could post a reply, maybe we can get Lessig to summarize for us...

I would really appreciate a summary. Thanks!

Summary would be great. What about the answers to the UCC questions posted?

Summary and Option K

It seems to me that Prof. Lessig essentially offered us an option contract when he promised to post a summary if we would increase our posts to the newsgroup. I would further submit that we accepted this offer by substantially performing (all one has to do is look at the frequency of posts to this board relative to those maintained by our other professors).

Can we now compel performance? Would that upset important norms surrounding the professor-student relationship? Will I be beaten severely for making so many bad legal jokes?

cheers,

a

PS: It seems that the same sort of argument could be made regarding Prof. Lessig's promise to give us juicy gossip regarding Prof. Hay.

"Please sir, may we have some-more"-y.

A summary would be really helpful - thanks! (I also second Rebecca's interest in answers to the UCC questions posted, if it's not too much trouble)

I'm all for summaries.

I would love summaries, too. Thanks.

-- Anonymous, December 15, 1998

I'd love to have a SOF summary, too.

I for one feel so confident with the statute of frauds that I don't think a summary is necessary.

Actually, I lie. Just wanted to stand out from the crowd. In truth I readily join the cacophony of voices asking for any / all summary and impartment of wisdom that might be provided.

thanks, nathan

I would truly like the Lessig's reponse to the U.C.C. questions but I think that a SOF summary would also be most helpful. Thanks Maggie
