Bear Notch Sun Dance

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Nature Photography Image Critique : One Thread

At foliage peak in NH's White Mts, the weather this year mostly rain and heavy overcast. For my final day there, I was on top of Bear Notch Road at sunrise - as the sun tried and fleetingly succeeded in slashing through the dark overcast. Golden beams danced magically around the valley. I felt privileged to capture a few of those moments.

Jack -

I am a cloud chaser and love the images they create. It must have been a great thing to watch but I don't believe the image conveys the same depth of feeling. It would have been nice if there was enough moisture in the air to cause the sunbeam to have some atmospheric shape. I'm surprised that even that much got through from the looks of the clouds.
