Is the warranty valid...........???????

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

I sent an Olypus d320L back to Olympus thru a camera shop in N. K. C., Mo. where I purchased it. They sent it on to Olympus warranty somewhere. I have heard nothing about when I can expect the repaired camera. I am not real happy as the camera I gave 699 for the camera last November and I have seen it in stores now at 399. Hope they repair the camera or send me a new one. They have had it over a month and that is rediculous.

Probably will not ever purchase OLYPMUS again due to poor service and quality of equipment......

I've personally always had excellent response from Oly service, but then I've always dealt with them directly. - You may want to try contacting Olympus directly, but expect some confusion around tracking a unit that was sent in by the store, vs you calling directly for status. (Hope you have the serial # written down somewhere.) All this not suggest that there's not a problem with Oly in this case, but do note that there's another party involved also... As to the drop in price - welcome to the club! It's just a fact of life that today's leading-edge camera will be half the price a year from now. Anybody who paid $699 for a camera a year ago is probably seeing them for sale for $399 now (if they're even still available). Count yourself lucky - Mine went from $1200 down to less than $800!
