DIY DCC without a PC ?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Wiring for DCC : One Thread

Hello DCC-men Before converting my old model railroad to DCC, I would like to know if there is any possiblity to build (not buy ;-) any system (microcontroller or hard) to control DCC decoders. In effect, although I have a PC, I don't wanna use it for this (it is not on the same room), I neither want to buy an other one (even an old one ...). I would just like to have an interface from throttles to DCC decoders, so I (and my familly) will be able to use several lokos at the same time. Thanks for any suggestion
