Miss Miranda,

Might I enquire as to why one would wish to have one's jewelry crafted after something one saw in a film? For, as you most likely know, such is quite unfashionable; one has one's jewelry originally made. Otherwise, one is simply one of the masses. I thank you.

A Contributer,

I am going to start calling you George, because it is much simpler than refering to you as "A Contributer", since I know that can't be your real name, and you refuse to share it.

There are quite a few people in this world who enjoyed the movie Titanic, perhaps people who are even more educated than you percieve yourself to be. Deal with it. Those people appreciated the artistic detail that went into the movie, and perhaps as a rememberance of one of the great movies of all time, would like to have a replica of some of that art.

Now, if you would like to further debate the movie or society, I am sure you can find a number of people on this web site who will be more than willing. However, I ask that you refrain from insulting people with your condesending tones. We who have been visiting this site for almost a year have come to appreciate the time people spend to keep us informed of everything that happens having to do with this movie.

Thank You

Misty,

Read my message on the thread called "Titanic in one sentence" for my explanation as to who I am.

I'm sorry if you thought I was being mean or rude.

A contributer, If you are whom I think you are I must say...jolly good show! :) LOL Yes a proper lady would only have her personal affects made to suite her tastes and her tastes alone! If I am wrong in who you are then I must say....Why do we insist on getting our own jewelery from a movie...Because we love antique looking jewelery!!!

They are now selling those combs at ebay.com (the online auction). He has sold three of them; the first two went for $355, the last for $480. There's one up for sale now, with one day to go; so far the highest bid is in the low $100s. Good luck if you try there!

Thanks again:) However I can't afford one for that price. I was intimidated by the first price of $150 so I waited and when I went back they were sold out! *sigh* I already have one from Byrddesigns (same as one from Angelfire) but this is the one I've been searching for. I hope I can find another place that has them!

Dear Miranda,

I may have an answer for you if you are willing to bend a little and not have the exact J. Peterman Comb. There is a very nice lady, and I mean "a lady" at Ebay that goes under the name of "foxparlour" as her seller name. Caroline sells the J. Peterman style combs that you are looking for, in two different styles, one of them is almost exactly like the type you are looking for. It is all made out of Faux Tortoise shell and is painted the same exact colors and the combs is lightweight and very comfortable to wear. I recieved one from her and love it! The nice thing is that she packages it in a beautiful Heart of the Ocean Satin Royal Blue and Silver heart shaped box that is satin lined with the same blue satin inside, for display. The bottom of the box has a picture of the Titanic and her insignia on it. I recommend this highly and will give you her email address, where she will gladly send you a pcture of the comb so you can see it for yourself. The only difference in the comb is that instead of gold, you will see silver, which is a little different than J. Peterman's, but does not at all detract from the look, but rather enhances it and give it her own little style. Check out "Foxparlour" if you are familiar with Ebay, and if not, here is her email address:

brian.trevorrow@gte.net

Her pricing is very reasonable for this style of craftstmanship/lastly on her, she is not licensed or authorized by Fox studios and these are her own specific designs and style of materials so there will not be a copywrite infringement problem. These are very much her own class of designs of combs!

Next I have a webpage that is called Granny Groza's Handmade Originals- and I make a wide array of butterfly combs for various occasions that are a little different than the J. Peterman type. My prices are not listed as of yet since we just got online, but will be soon, along with other combs and jewelry and the rhinestone haircage as I call it, that Rose wore for the dinner scene. My combs run between 20$-80$( prices depending on material used such as semi precious stones and sterling silver)Here is my website address at :

www2.4dcomm.com/ajgroza/

or you can reach me at my email and I can send you my page if you have trouble reaching it at :

ajgroza@4dcomm.com

I hope I could help you somewhat.

Sincerely,
Granny Groza
