We just got back from a flea market a few miles outside of Charleston SC. While there, my wife, who is just getting to become a GI, and I came across a table with a Y2k sign on it. Since I think only Sen. Strom Thurman and I are the only ones in the state who ever heard of y2k, I was anxious to talk to the guy whose table this was. The guy at the neighboring table said the guy would be right back. Within a few minutes this guy jumps out of a tent and out of the sixties. He is about 40 yrs old. Wears a red dot the size of a quarter in the middle of his forehead and a T shirt with home made lettering stating, "Slave of Babylon" across the chest. My wife is now at the "Fugeddabouditt" stage. I couldn't contain myself and just laughed out loud. He starts to harangue the crowd about paying 50% taxes which makes us slaves of Babylon, and how our salvation will come in the year 2000 via y2k which will bring Babylon crashing down on our heads. No wonder a lot of folks don't take this thing seriously. This lunatic has cost me about 8 months progress convincing my wife. To make things worse, he had a lot of his facts right.
