How can I obtain information on whether the Tennessee-American Water Company is y2k compliant or what their schedule and testing results are?

Check the American Water Works Association website at:

www.awwa.org

Also, give Tennessee-American a call. Worst case, you'll get a PR person who will give you their standard Y2k statement.

I called my local-hartford ct.-water company and said "Hi I'm bill burke from the amer.water works asso. did you respond to our y2k survey? They put me through to the head y2k guy and he said he didn't remember it crossing his desk. He agreed to answer a few phone questions. His answers: They began their efforts in 98. They are not through with assessing. they will be ready for 2000. OOOPS! This is the capital of senator Dodd's home state and he is the vice chairman of the year 2000 commitee. In the richest state in the union, and the home of insurance. The insurance companies have been working on it first. Guess they didn't notify thier utilities. I am left wondering why any other state would be further along.
