I read your replys on generators-most are good-but- missed the main point-getting a portable gen-set is just the begining--you must have it installed & hooked up by a qualified person--so you know it is safe-for you & the linemen working on the power lines --[ back feed ] from you gen-set to the power lines Noise is not a problem?--I can tell you how to make your generator so quite--you will have to touch it to see if it is running! Fuel--you do not run a generator 24 hrs a day--you run it very sparingly-- I do not know what size the individual has--but a 5000 watt air cooled -w/a 5 gal tank should last for several days--minimim--I have ran one a week on 5 gals of fuel--I realize it is inconvenient--but it is an emergancy unit--You also have to take precausions against it being stolen--when you sleep--doesnt mean everyone else is too--I solved this problem--by installing my gen-set in the bed of my pick-up truck inclosed--body--locked--w/alarm system--to a seperate not the trucks horn--just touch the trk & BEEEEEEP until I shut it off---no one can steal it when I am gone--it is with me--I have a perfect remedy for a perminate site for one--Bomb proof--a little costly but no one could steal it--you will laugh when I tell you What it is--I will give you a hint--they are all over the place--come in several sizes--I modified one many years ago at a construction site--for the office--shes still there looks good--no one ever broke into it--HE_HE_HE-- Anyone needing idears E-mail me at GENY2K@WEBTV.NET Thanks
