I know there are survivors still from the sinking, but are there any survivors that actually remember what happened?

This is only my opinion, but of the 5 (I believe) remaining survivors, Melvina Dean would be the youngest and as she was about 4 months old at the time, I doubt she actually remembers the experience itself, although she certainly grew up with it all of her life. Of the others remaining, they are probably too old to remember or do not choose to remember and that is certainly their right. We have lost many of the survivors in the last few years and it has come to a point that what we know and what we will learn will come from the history books and future research. I, myself, feel very lucky that over the years that I have studied this event, I have been able to hear the story from those who were there and only wish that I had met them in person. What an afternoon that would have been! It's what I have said all along: The movie is a masterpiece, but never forget what it is all about: an event in history that should never be forgotten and also should never be repeated.

Regards, Peter
