Please remain "on topic"

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Electric Utilities and Y2K : One Thread

It's fun being the moderator of a forum like this! ;-)

Once again, I ask that postings remain focused on the Year 2000 problem in the electric industry. While there are many tangents that we could explore, this website (and discussion forums) are very tightly aligned with only the electric industry.

Since it's so much fun being moderator (and I honestly mean that, because unlike other such forums, as the webmaster I like to participate also), I also get the responsiblity of being the sole judge, jury, and executioner when it comes to deleting postings that I consider off-topic.

If you scan the postings on this forum, I *do* let some almost-off-topic postings slide, because there is at least *some* connection to electric utilitites - ie. if there's problems with electricity in your location, there's going to be problems with the water supply.

But, using this example, the American Water Works Association (www.awwa.org) has an open Y2k discussion board where this type of question might be better placed. Similarly, I believe the Telcoforum (http://www.telcoyear2000.org/) has a discussion board.

If you have any questions on the type of postings appropriate for the euy2k.com forum, please click on "ABOUT" from the forum index page.

I want to thank everyone for their participation in this forum! Your participation *is* making a difference!
