Wondered if anyone else has heard, kept up on the WTAM Y2K coverage? I am very dissapointed. The title suggests impending disaster, while the "special reporting" downplays the problem. Monday was a quote from someone at Case Western telling people they should not be concerned with their power going out. Tonight, we were privelaged to hear Dennis Kucinich (leading democrat on Clinton's committee - argh!) tell his constituents we'll know the extent of the problem we wake up on January 1 and see that our power is still working, banks are still up, and telecommunications are still up. Where's the balance???

Christine, Bear in mind that 'dennis the mennace' is very geared towards the elderly, as matter of fact, most elderly just love him. Who do we think put him in office? WTAM has alot of elderly listeners (my mom in law for one) who listen Daily. Surely they do not wish to 'scare' anyone. After reading our 'awareness' level and the report on the how ohio is faring up, We DO have big problems up ahead. With dennis (his name is not worthy of caps) it doesnt surprise me that he would make such an idiotic statement such as we'll know when we wake up on Jan 1st. Well, Forgive me, We can give him an A for Honesty? As you guessed I am no dennis fan.

dennis can only get a B for honesty. Concealing some of the truth is not honesty. And he only gets it this ONE time. I share your feelings about the guy.

The Banking story tonight was teh usual "You could lose all your money" line and then some voice (I didn'y hear an identification) who comes up and says it will probably be a medium to large sized bump, but not a big problem. OH YEAH there was somebody from Key Bank whoo said they were good to go but his concern was everyone else his bank needs to talk to,,,,,
