Beautiful picture, but quickly forgotten since it lacks some form of attention grabber. If the big grey something on the big rock in the center had been a naked woman curled up into a ball, and lighted so as to almost blend in with the texture of the loaction, then you would have had a real winner.

i think you got as much out of the subject as one could reasonalbly expect. excellent composition.

of course, the naked lady would be preferable, but would invoke the dreaded "hand of man" condemnation. which has always seemed affected to me.

A great image. well done.

An improvement over the rapids image, without its visual clutter. But it suffers somewhat from the bull's-eye syndrome, with your main compositional element dead center. You might have tried moving it towards a corner and allowing the strong diagonal lines of the rock lead the eye to the pool. And perhaps you could have posititioned the camera so as to have caught light in the two smaller pools of water as well as the large one. I don't want to come off as harsh; I'm trying to offer constructive criticism that may help you with your photography. Anyway, you have enough people who like what you're doing that you can feel fine about your stuff and maybe think over what I've said. A spoonfull of sugar, so to speak.

Nice! I think there are a lot of subtle tones and textures here that don't come across real well on a monitor screen but I bet the print is beautiful. How do you like the Pentax 6x7? I've often thought about getting that camera if I were to shoot medium format.

Pardon me, but I would like to know how or why a naked woman should be included in a NATURE photography forum? What the?

I enjoyed this image. It's interesting and textural. Thanks for sharing it.
