Gaelic Storm plays at Notre Dame!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TitanicShack : One Thread

Hey everyone, I've got some really exciting news for you Gaelic Storm fans - they were playing at Notre Dame tonight and I got their autograph! I'm really pshyched beacuse my sister just came home with their autogrpah for me. It says "God Bless. Gaelic Storm". For those of you that don't know excactly who they are, they were the 3rd class Irish band that played for Jack and Rose below decks during the party. I think she got it on a napkin or something. So I'm really excited and I thought I'd share my thoughts with you! And in case some of you guys were there, just thought I'd let you know. My sister said they played with spoons, violins, etc. as they did back in 1912. :-)

Oops, I mean Notre Dame played here in good ol' Califoria for some sort of charity auction, I think it was somewhere in L.A. But you'll never believe this: My sister put the autogrpagh in her jacket pocket and left it at her friends house. :-( Things look pretty dim right now; from the looks of things, I think she lost it. :-( Oh well, maybe it'll turn up someday. At least she got to meet them. All I can do right now is wait...

Gaelic Storm is coming to balmy Nashvegas...er...Nashville, Tennessee on December 4th. They are playing at a new Irish bar here in town called Seanachie (I hope that's how it's spelled...haha) and there is NO COVER. I plan to be there! :)

Nashville sucks. The pub was packed and there was a line out onto the street so GUESS WHO COULDN'T GET IN??? I even tried flirting with the door guy. No such luck. So I spent the night across the street at Planet Friggin' Hollywood staring out the window and trying not to be angry. A million roomy places in this town to play and they pick a cramped little pub. Pooh! :(

Do I sound bitter?

Nah, Gilded, not bitter at all. Quite pleasant, actually! :-)

Phew big releif: my sis' found the autograph. It says "Best of Luck - Michael..." somethingorother. I can't read the guys name, and I can barely make out his last name, but I do know he is the lead singer/violinist. Seems he was in quite a rush.

Sorry you didn't have a better time, Gilded. They'll be around at some point or another. But do keep up that wondeful attitude! Bitter? Nah...

At the time they were just getting warmed up...But if you look for Gaelic Storm on a search engine now you'll see they have their own website http://www.gaelicstorm.com which has their schedule of shows, merchandise, general band info, etc. (They're in France at the moment) Sit back, have a pint and enjoy! Slainte!

That's really cool. I to have their autographs from a concert that played at Rosebud in Pittsburgh PA. I got an 8x10 glossy with all of there names for my son. My husband almost got beat over the head with a violin getting Kathy's signature. After they were done playing she was putting the violin away, and we were trying to get her attention to get her to sign so my husband poked her in the ass. I thought she was going to turn around and hit him over the head. It was really great fun. We just saw them again last week at The Irish Festival, but they didn't get to play long enough. Although it was the first time I've ever seen an irish band member (Stephen) stage dive. If you have never seen them you must go. You'll have the time of your life.
