Best Stitching Software?

Twofold question: does Microsoft Picture It 99 have the capability of stitching photos together? Can anyone suggest one of the consumer photo editing applications which does have an easy stitching function?

We haven't officially reviewed it yet, but in my opinion, the best stitching software (hands down) is QuickStitch, by Enroute Imaging (www.enroute.com). It's currently limited in the size of the final file it can create to something on the order of a couple of thousand pixels on a side, but it's fast, powerful, and very easy to use.

I use Photoshop 4 with the Layer Mask. You can even correct small parallax and exposure (with auto exp. cameras) differences. I have Roundaboutlogic's Nodester 1.5 for QTVR panoramas but most of the time it needs correction (even when images were taken with a QTVR head = the camera is leveled and turns in the focal point of the lens with 30-50% overlap).
