Digital to "real pictures"

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

I would like to purchase a very good long term digital camera, (am contemplating the Kodak DC-260) but my wife would like to still have "real" pictures from time to time. Is there a service that can take digital picture data and make true 4 X 6 pictures? What are the costs? Thanks!

Hi Glenn,

I work for an imaging company and I'm also a former photography studio owner of 17 years.

We have a Sienna FotoPrint IP4000 where I work and it is a photo printer that uses long roll paper and traditional chemistry, but only outputs from digital files!! The output from the DCS-460 will be exactly like from a 35mm negative and at 4 x 6 size, there's no difference. You most likely will be able to get 16 x 20 with no problem, too.

Go to our web site www.pictureprint.com and our prices are there. Please be in touch as I'd love to provide your output and any help for making your digital files.

My web site is not working right now (vendor problems) but I print images for my clients using an HP PhotoSmart printer. I can provide you with virtually any type print you may need from Glossy to Mat. Single or multiple-up. Cost varies based on size. I can/will even add frames or borders if you wish.

Would be glad to provide this service to anyone. I can also assemble them and create a CD-ROM for you if you like. Even format changes (eg. TIF to JPG, etc).

Until my site is again operable, you can contact me at this E-Mail address. Would be happy to call you to discuss.
