Canon Pro70 and non-canon flashes

Does anybody have any information about possibility of using Canon Powershot Pro70 with non-canon flashes?

I suppose it should work with Metz 40MZ3i (can anybody confirm this?), since it works in E-TTL mode like Canon's officialy reccomended EX flashes, but it is more interesting wether Pro70 can work with A-TTL, TTL or manual flashes.

Can't say about third-party, Canon-compatible TTL flashes, but it works fine with ordinary, non-TTL automatic flash units. (We tested it with an old SunPak auto-thyristor, and it worked fine.) The only obvious limitation with non-TTL auto flashes is that you have to set the F-stop to whatever the flash is calibrated for. Anybody out there have direct experience with non-Canon TTL units?
