James Cameron Titanic Explorer CD-ROM

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TitanicShack : One Thread

The new James Cameron Titanic Explorer CD-ROM is available for purchase. There has been much discussion about this multi-CD-ROM product on the Countdown To Titanic messageboard about this new product, courtesy of David Wiseheart, Producer, Fox Interactive. Sounds like this is a product that all Titanic and "Titanic" lovers will enjoy. You can access the board at http://countingdown.com/c2t and then click on the Messageboard link.

I am having trouble finding the site. I was there once but cannot seem to locate it. Can anyone help?

One of the threads on the C2T website.

The official webpage for the CD-ROM from Fox Interactive.

Tom, Thanks for posting the links to Countdown To Titanic (I don't know why that is so hard to locate and access!!) and the official Fox Interactive website. Those two sites should provide people with the pertinent information on the new James Cameron Titanic Explorer CD- ROM. I still have not located a copy to purchase locally.

I found a copy but I did not get it. It did not look that interesting. But thats just me...

Tomorrow (Tuesday, December 2nd), there will be "never before seen" footage from the director's cut on Entertainment Tonight.

Methinks that it will be a tie-in to the new CD-Rom.

Make that Tuesday, December 1st for the ET segment.

Thomas, thanks for letting us know. I turned it on at 6:35 and caught the clips about it. The CD-ROM looks very neat. Does anyone know how much it is going to cost? I'd like my dad to buy it for me for Christmas.

I found it for $29.99 at Circuit City (and then got an instant $10 rebate!!). Toys R Us had it for $49.99. And I've seen it advertised at other places for $39.99. So you need to shop around!!!

I finally bought the CD-ROM, and I must say that it is fascinating.

The QuicktimeVR movies of the ship are spooky; as historian Don Lynch has said, the Rosarita Beach set was as though Titanic was recreated.
