Can you believe this,I went to the library the other day to look for books on titanic and i got this, a women called Violet Jessop was a White Star Line stewardess and was one of the survivors on Titanic. Also, in 1911 she was on White Star Lines Olympic when it collided with HMS Hawke and she was also on the sister ship Britannic when it hit a mine and sunk in the Aegean. Has anyone else read this book or would anybody like any information?

Sounds like poor Violet was plaqued by the Spirit of Bad Luck! What's the name of the book?

The title is "Titanic Survivor : The Newly Discovered Memoirs of Violet Jessop Who Survived Both the Titanic and Britannic Disasters" and the author is Violet Jessup. With the permission of Violet's nieces, editor John Maxtone-Graham utilized memoirs written by Violet back in the 1930s. I read this book recently and found it to be a very interesting account of someone who led an unusual life...born in Britain, raised in Argentina, got a job as a stewardess on a ship (because her family needed money and her mother had earned a job doing the same thing), travelled around the world, fell in love but never married, and who happened to be on both Titanic and Brittanic when the ships sank. Violet's experiences on both ships are not the focus of the book. I found her entire life a very interesting look at someone who grew up in a very different place and time from me. I highly recommend this book!!

I am 15 years old, and I have not yet read the book although I should, as I am very proud of my Great Aunt, and all the wonderful attributes she has accomplished in her life.
