Michelle, if you mean specifically your state government agencies, here is an excerpt from a USA Today Tech Report:

Year 2000, state by state

California: Assessment done? Yes.

Estimated Cost? 200 Million

Estimate of work done? 23%

If you mean everything in the state - electric and gas utilities, all businesses, county and municipal governments and water supply systems, the answer is - not even close to compliance. 25% to 30% of local governments and businesses have not even started. The L.A. Times has run several articles on Y2K. You can probably locate back issues at your local library.
