Sawdust is not the first choice for use in compost. Cow or horse manure provide cellulose-digesting bacteria, which your compost pile needs to heat up enough to kill pathogens. There's more to -- see Making Rapid Compost [and] ditto, on UK server
Provides easily scaleable construction details for building a cheap, efficient compost bin. "Materials for the Compost Bin" lists various compostable materials, with informative comments on each. Links to many other web sites on composting.
Sawdust will compost -- it's just awfully slow.
