A digital camera is probably overkill for a webtv framegrabber. You should be able to get decent stills out of your camcorder especially if you:

1) Grab a live image rather than a tape, 2) If you must grab a tape, choose a moment without much action and grab it without pausing

If you don't have a computer and you still want better stills than you can get with your current camcorder, consider getting a better camcorder (eg hi-8). This will probably cost about the same as a digital still camera.

YES... Webtv Plus can use any camera that has a connection from the camera to the TV Vidio. I use a Sonney TR490, follow the instruction with your camera on how to connect, I connect direct to the Webtv Box, which is connected to the TV. Also I have a Olympus ( I am happy to say I waon from Photopoint. Com ) and connect to the Webtv box. When you are in email, address your message,( send to photopoint Com,) in the subject area write "Cption " click on photo ( its on the left side bar) this will bring up the photo to be sent, click freeze, click add to, and send. A neat trick I have found, is to send photos without any tape or film, just removethe cassect from the cam, and view the image you want and send. With my Olympus I must use the card. To see my phonto, you can loge into Photopoint.Com, on the left side bar, "vie members album " enter "skrub@webtv.net " it will bring you to my album list, visit any,on my favoret isTEXAS WINDMILL '" email any question about this. Good luck Bill Burks
