Correcting red eyes

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

I have a Fuji 700 digital camera, win95 and Adobe Photoshop Version 4. I tried accessing the manual but made a mistake by trying to open it in wordpad - I don't seem able to stop it going to wordpad now ....

So please could someone tell me if it is possible to correct red-eyes in photos downloaded to my computer using Photoshop or do I need other software Thanks Geraldine

Someone should answer ur question on photoshop..I do not have it, but for what it costs..it should correct red-eye. Another low cost solution is Microsoft Picture It! It does correct red-eye,wrinkles,restores old photo's,color,etc..and now it is usuallly $19.99 after a $20 rebate. Very simple to use and many fun things come with it. Check out comp usa ,best buy and others should have this product.

Sorry, don't have any experience with Photoshop. But I can help with you open the manual in a different program. Just do the following in Win 95.

To change which program starts when you open a file 1. In My Computer or Windows Explorer, click the View menu, and then click Options. 2. Click the File Types tab. 3. In the list of file types, click the one you want to change. The settings for that file type are shown in the File Type Details box. 4. Click Edit. 5. In the Actions box, click Open. 6. Click Edit, and then specify the program you want to use to open files that have this extension.

Good luck.......JOHN

I can't say much for Photoshop (I know it's possible but don't know how) but if you do end up using Microsoft's Picture It!, then check out the PhotoSmart site. We have tutorials on how to get rid of red eye using Picture It! (among many other things).

The PhotoSmart site is a Hewlett Packard site, but the tutorials are designed for use by anyone with any system (just need Picture It!, which comes with HP's PhotoSmart products).

Address is http://www.photosmart.com

Good luck!
